Some of the Commonly Used Essential Oils and their Remedies

Mother nature often provides some of the best natural remedies to human ailments such as headaches, migraines, stress, anxiety, insomnia, minor cuts, and more. Essential oils are one of them. Sometimes, the essential oils can provide relief more instantly than pharmaceuticals within a few hours or even minutes.

If you’ve never used essential oils before, start with a small quantity. You can try picking one or two oils and combine them to address one or two ailments. Below we’ve discussed some of the commonly used essential oils and different methods to use them for a healthy lifestyle.

How can Essential Oils be used to Cure Ailments?

Generally, essential oils can be used in three ways depending on the desired outcome, quantity required, and personal preference:

  • By applying on skin
  • By inhaling
  • By ingesting

Children and people with skin issues or sensitive skin should be careful in applying essential oils directly on the skin. Sometimes the essential oils can be diluted using a carrier oil such as grape seed, almond oil, olive oil, or coconut oil before applying on the skin.

However, butter, margarine, or petroleum-based products can’t be used as carrier oils. Moreover, essential oils shouldn’t be applied near eyes as they may cause itching in the eyes.
