Lyme disease is transmitted by black-legged ticks. It is an inflammatory disease that can cause a wide variety of symptoms. About half of all infected people will have a very distinctive rash that looks like a bull’s-eye around the tick bite. This rash makes it possible to identify the disease right away but for those who don’t develop the rash or if it goes undetected due to the location of the bite, then diagnosing this disease is very difficult.
The other symptoms mimic so many other illnesses that it’s hard to pinpoint the cause. These symptoms include fever, headaches, chills, fatigue, sore throat, swelling and joint pain to name a few. For this reason, many patients are misdiagnosed and left untreated and that is a serious problem.
If not properly treated, Lyme disease can turn into something much more serious. For example, neurological problems and arthritis can develop and you might even begin experiencing cardiac symptoms. Not receiving treatment for this disease can be life altering.
If you know or suspect you were bitten by a tick and you begin experiencing symptoms associated with Lyme disease, tell your doctor. It will help him to make a more accurate diagnosis so you can begin treatment immediately. It’s also helpful to keep any ticks you remove in a container until you’re sure it did not carry this disease.
Treating Lyme Disease With Essential Oils
When diagnosed in the early stages, patients are prescribed antibiotics to help treat Lyme disease. If left untreated for six months or more the antibiotics may not do any good at all. That is one of the reasons diagnosing lyme disease in its early stages is so important.
Considering the seriousness of this disease and the fact that there is no known cure, many patients are using essential oils to treat Lyme disease and they are having excellent results.
Here is a list of the main essential oils used to treat Lyme disease:
Frankincense Essential Oil – Big 4 oz – 100% Pure & Natural Therapeutic Grade – Premium Quality Oil

Tips For Using Essential Oils For Lyme Disease
Always use 100 percent pure essential oils when treating this disease. If the oils you use are not 100 percent pure, they will not be as effective and may not help at all. Choose a company that has a good reputation for selling pure oils such as doTERRA or Young Living oils.
Frankincense oil has antiseptic and inflammatory properties, it’s a muscle relaxant and it stimulates the immune system so it is one of the most effective essential oils to use for treating Lyme disease. When you combine it with oregano and carrier oil and rub it on your feet, it’s very effective for treating the symptoms associated with this disease.
Cinnamon oil has antimicrobial properties that can help cure Lyme disease naturally, so it is also one of the main oils used to treat this disease. Combining tea tree and clove oil together strengthens the antibacterial properties making these oils even more effective.
Rose, lavender, geranium and rosemary all have properties that fight the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi that causes Lyme disease. For this reason they are excellent oils to use to help prevent you from relapsing once you’re better. All of the other essential oils listed above have antibacterial, antiseptic or analgesic properties that also fight infection.
The natural healing properties found in essential oils make them an excellent treatment option for Lyme disease. If you or someone you know is suffering from this illness, now is a good time to give these oils a try.

Great oils. Now how to use? Can you mix all together in coconut oil as a body lotion? You give Frankensence and Oregano to bottoms of feet, but what about cinnamon, tea tree and clove. My daughter is suffering with this disease and anything I can do to help her cope would be a great help. Being new to the oil revolution, I need directions. Thank you, Cindy B
Cindy, you can mix and match these oils and use them alternatively. For example use the frankincense and oregano on the bottom of the feet before bed, and make a massage oil with the other oils. Just be careful: cinnamon and clove are hot oils. Test a small skin patch before you go full on with a massage. I, for example, am allergic to cinnamon oil (I choke as soon as I open the bottle).
Also, tell your daughter to eat a diet full of fresh veggies to build up her immune system: that will also help.
Hi, we went bird watching in a little woodsy area. This area is situated in an area with a lot of houses. I wore jeans with the cuffs of my jeans inside white socks, a white long sleeve top tucked into my pants with a belt. It was a cold morning so I wore a scarf a kangaroo sweater and a thin winter jacket. Well when I got home everything was ok then suddenly I felt a pinch right below my belly button. I looked and I thought it was a piece of fiber but when I reached for it I noticed it was a tick. I immediately took the tweezers and removed it. Luckily I removed it completely and it was still very flat and stored it in a pill bottle. I have been putting a mixture of doTerra Oregano, Frankincense, Tea Tree, On Guard and Lavender. No swelling, no bulls-eye. But, your comment about some people not developing a rash or a bulls eye scares me. Does that mean that I may have still have Lyme Disease? …even though the tick hasn’t started sucking? Thanks
I think you are safe. You got it out completely before it really buried itself in.
Will Rose oil Absolute work the same as rose oil essential oil? I did not realize there was a difference until after I ordered it.
How often do you alternate using them? Once a day? Twice a day? For how long do you use them?
Is there anything else I should be doing with it? I’ve had Lymes for 3 years. I have flairs the main stream Dr blow off. I have had so many blood work ups for arthritis, that are negative. They just want to put me on antiinflamitories instead of healing the issue. The look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them what’s going on. I’m tired of dealing with them and need help from people that know how to fix the issue not cover up some of the symptoms.
Com you help? PLEASE.
Terri, I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling good for so long! I’m not a doctor, so I can only make some suggestions, but you need to do some more research and stay in touch with your doctor. Rose oil and absolute are both made form rose, just through different extraction modes. You should be able to use either. You can use these oils every couple of hours as needed: just make sure you dilute them properly. AS far as alternating them, you can either alternate by days, or by the time of day you use them: just choose what you feel more comfortable with.
