There are many reasons you might feel nauseated. Here are just a few:
- upset stomach
- morning sickness
- chemotherapy
- motion sickness
- migraines
When you feel nauseated, you probably just want to sit or lie down somewhere and not move. However, that’s not always possible and nothing really seems to help much. Many of the causes of nausea don’t warrant going to the doctor, so you need to know how to take care of yourself and feel better.
Here are some natural ways to get rid of nausea:
- drink some tea: ginger is very good, but so it chamomile and fennel tea. Just bring a cup of water to a boil and drop 1 inch of ginger sliced up, or half a teaspoon of chamomile or fennel and let it seep for 5 minutes. Drink in small sips, not all at once.
- suck on some lemon slices
- if possible, lay down and relax for a few minutes
- inhale some peppermint oil
I did a bit of research online and found this great video that explains how to use essential oils for nausea.
Andrea shows you how to make both an inhaler and a topical blend that you can use separately or together to get relief fast.
To make the aromatherapy inhaler, you’ll need:
- Blank inhaler
- Peppermint essential oil
- Green mandarin essential oil
- Cardamom essential oil
Add a few drops of the essential oils to the cotton tube inside your inhaler and it’s ready to use.
To make the topical blend you’ll need:
- 2 ounce glass or PET plastic bottle
- Aloe Vera gel
- Peppermint essential oil
- Green mandarin essential oil
- Cardamom essential oil
- Roman chamomile essential oil
Place your ingredients in your bottle and shake to mix everything together. When you need it, shake the mixture into the palm of your hand and rub it on your stomach and lower back to feel relief fast. I’m excited to give these essential oil blends a try the next time I’m feeling a little sick on my stomach.
