If you are an essential oils user, sooner or later you’ll need a way to organize and store your oils. In the beginning, when you only have a few oils, you might not want to spend any money for essential oils storage containers, but once you start accumulating a few bottles of essential oils, you definitely need to think about it.
I’m still looking for the perfect essential oils container myself, and while looking for ideas, I thought I’d save and share what I learned.
There are many ways to store oils, and depending on your creativity and the time you want to put into it, you can create your own storage containers by recycling what you have. I’ll have a few examples of this at the end of this page, so make sure you scroll down if you’d like to craft your own storage container.
Essential Oils Storage Cases
One of the first organizers I bought for my oils was an essential oils storage case set I found on Etsy. As you see, it includes a larger pouch that fits 12 bottles of oil, a smaller one that I can carry in my purse, and an essential oils case insert (I can put 5 oils in this and drop it in any suitcase, or take it with me anywhere).
There are many for sale on Etsy, and in many cases, you can choose your own fabric design (I choose the one above, and she customized it for me). Here’s a cute one.
Essential Oil Storage Display Racks

As your collection of essential oil bottles grows, you’ll need a way to access them easily. Display racks are inexpensive and easily accessible.
I love this nail polish rack from amazon: it’d big enough to display around 75 bottles of oils and it looks very nice too.
There are smaller racks if you don’t have that many oils (but you might want to plan ahead for when you do beef up your collection 😉 )
Essential Oil Storage Boxes
If you’d rather store your essential oils in a box, getting an essential oils wooden storage box would be perfect. They are a bit more expensive than a nail polish rack, but they’ll keep the oils out of the light and also protected them from getting dusty (as they will if you keep them on a rack on the wall).

Essential Oils Plastic Bins
If you have a small budget for essential oils storage, you could get a few plastic bins and use them to keep your oil bottles organized. Craft supplies storage boxes are perfect for this. Her are a few examples:

More Essential Oils Storage Containers Ideas
In a pinch you could use an ice cube tray to store up to 20 oils (depending on the size of your tray). Here’s mine:
Other ways also store your essential oils collection:
- use some drawer dividers and use one of your drawers as your essential oil storage
- make a shadow box from an old picture frame
- build a shelf out of pallets
- use a shoe organizer
