Learn how to use essential oils for sinus infection

Have you ever been in so much pain that you’d do anything to get rid of it? For the past few days I’ve been struggling with a terrible headache, that turned out to be a sinus infection. My symptoms ranged from really bad headache, ear ache, facial tenderness, nasal congestion, fatigue, malaise, post nasal drip  and more. I used some of my essential oils for sinus infection to alleviate many of the symptoms I had.

Essential Oils For Sinus Infection

While I’m always prepared to take whatever treatment I need to in order to get better, I always prefer to treat myself naturally if possible. There are several essential oils that can hep with a sinus infection, especially through their anti-inflammatory properties. Sinus Infection Blend

When you blend essential oils, you get the benefits of several natural oils all at once. Certain blends are very effective for relieving sinus congestion, especially when inhaled. Below I added a video that shows you how to blend essential oils and then use the blend to get sinus relief.

To make this blend and to use it for sinus relief you’ll need 25 drops of each one of the essential oils listed below in an amber bottle and shake.

Now that you have your blend, it’s time to use it to clear up those sinuses. Pour the hot water into the bowl and then place one drop of the essential oil blend in the hot water. Close your eyes and lean over the bowl. Drape the towel around your head so that it will drop down around the bowl and it will hold the steam in while you breathe deeply for a minute or two.

When you’re through, leave the bowl of water on the table for a little while. The oil will continue to diffuse into the air and kill germs.

Watch the video to see how to make this essential oil blend and how to use it to clear up sinus congestion.

Common Ways To Treat Sinusitis (sinus infection)

If you find yourself with a sinus infection, you’ll want to take action right away, because the pain is too much to suffer. Here are some of the most common ways to treat sinusitis:

  • nasal irrigation
  •  pain medicine
  • anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen
  • steroids (Flonase)
  • in chronic cases of sinus infection, antibiotics are necessary

Of course, I personally will always try to treat myself naturally, but it’s good to remember that you have options.
